I Don’t Want to Walk Home

我不想⾛回家

Tom is a very old man. After dinner, he likes walking in the street. And he goes to bed at seven o’clock.

汤姆是⼀位⽼⼈，他喜欢在晚饭后到⼤街上散步，在7点回来睡觉。

But tonight, a car stopped at his house. A policeman helps him get out. He tells Tom’s wife, “The old man couldn’t find his way in the street. He asked me to take him in the car.”

但是，今天晚上⼀辆⼩汽车停在他家门前，汤姆在⼀位警察的帮助下⾛下汽车。警察告诉汤姆的妻⼦：“这位⽼⼈在街上迷路了，他让我⽤汽车送他回来。”

After the policeman leaves there, his wife asks, “Tom, you go to the street every night.But tonight you can’t find the way, what’s the matter?”

警察⾛后：“汤姆，你每天都到那条街上散步，但是今天你迷路了，你怎么了？”

The old man smiles like a child and says, “I couldn’t find my way? I didn’t want to walk home.”

这位⽼⼈像孩⼦般的笑道：“我迷路了？我是不想⾛路回家。”

Two guys were walking through the jungle. All of a sudden, a tiger appears from a distance, running towards them. One of the guys takes out a pair of "Nikes" from his bag and starts to put them on. The other guy with a surprised look and exclaims, "Do you think you will run faster than the tiger with those?" His friend replies: "I don't have to out run it, I just have to run faster than you."

两个男⼈正在穿过丛林，突然，⼀只⽼虎出现在远处，向他们冲来。其中的⼀个⼈从包⾥拿出⼀双“耐克”鞋，开始穿上。另⼀个⼈惊奇地看着他说，“你以为穿上这个就可以跑得过⽼虎吗?” 他的朋友回答道：“我不⽤跑得过它，我只要跑得⽐你快就⾏了。”

Making His Mark

A man from the state of Chu was taking a boat across a river when he dropped his sword into the water carelessly. Immediately he made a mark on the side of the boat where the sword dropped, hoping to find it later. When the boat stopped moving, he went into the water to search for his sword at the place where he had marked the boat. As we know, the boat had moved but the sword had not. Isnt this a very foolish way to look for a sword?

楚国有个⼈坐船渡江时，他不⼩⼼把⾃⼰的⼀把宝剑掉落江中。他马上掏出⼀把⼩⼑，在宝剑落⽔的船舷上刻上⼀个记号。船靠岸后，那楚⼈⽴即从船上刻记号的地⽅跳下⽔去捞取掉落的宝剑。他怎么找得到宝剑呢?船继续⾏驶，⽽宝剑却不会再移动。像他这样去找剑，真是太愚蠢可笑了。

Kua Fu tried his best to chase the sun. When he arrived at the place where the sun set, he had to turned around, as he could not bear the thirst, and came to the Yellow River and the Wei River.

夸⽗竭尽全⼒追赶太阳。当他追赶太阳降落的地⽅时，由于忍受不了⼲渴，只好掉转头，回到黄河、渭河所在的地⽅，⼀⼝⽓便将这两条河⾥的⽔喝得精光。

In one breath, he quaffed up all the water in both rivers. Though he drank up two rivers, he still felt thirsty, and he decided to go to the large lake in the north for a good drink. On the way to the north, Kua Fu eventually died of thirst。

虽然喝光了两条⼤河，但夸⽗还是感到不解渴,⼜打算到北⽅的⼤湖⾥去痛饮⼀番。北去的途中，夸⽗终因⼲渴⽽死。
