InnerWorld

Dark, frayed silk‑threads drift across the twilight realm, invisible to ordinary mortal eyes. Guizang Xianwang, the wraith bound to these endless threads, dwells within the cracks between life and oblivion. He does not hunt for pleasure; every silken strand he wields is a fragment of the dead, stitched together from unfulfilled regrets and lingering grudges of countless departed souls.

For centuries he wanders the shadow‑covered borderlands, his threads quietly marking every living creature whose fate draws near to demise. He never strikes rashly. When a person’s hour approaches, thin, cold filaments twist silently around their wrists, ankles and neck, unseen. Most victims feel nothing at first—only a faint chill brushing against skin, as if cold wind passes through empty clothing. Many dismiss this strange sensation as mere weariness or hallucination, unaware they have already been locked onto by Ghost‑Concealing Thread‑Doom.

The threads do not kill instantly. They slowly drain vitality, erode willpower, and weave the target’s own nightmares into reality. Shadows begin to move on their own inside empty rooms; faint whispers echo out of nowhere; familiar faces appear at the edge of vision only to vanish the moment one turns to look. Those who understand the legend try to cut the threads with blades or fire, yet every severed strand splits into two new ones. Violence only strengthens his power, feeding more resentment into the network of silk.

A group of wandering exorcists once set out to end his curse. They tracked the cold thread‑trails deep into an abandoned ancient burial ground, where mist hung thick above broken tombstones. Guizang Xianwang revealed himself among swirling shadow‑silk. His true form stays half‑veiled, never fully exposed. He told them he was not born an evil deity. Long ago he was a mortal executioner, buried alive in a mass grave after being framed. Dying in agony, his soul fused together with the burial ropes used to bind prisoners, transforming into this thread‑wraith. He carries out what he believes to be unavoidable fate, reaping those already marked for death, rather than arbitrarily slaughtering the innocent.

Some exorcists refuse to accept this excuse. They launch sealing arts, attempting to trap him forever underground. Others hesitate, realizing destroying him would not free all trapped souls—countless dead fragments are woven into his thread‑body. If he perishes, all those lingering spirits will be completely erased without any chance at reincarnation.

The conflict tears their party apart. Half choose to fight, half stand back, trapped inside a cruel dilemma. Ghost‑Concealing Thread‑Doom does not attack them outright. He spreads his threads outward, wrapping the whole graveyard inside his domain. Inside this space, past tragedies replay as illusions: the framing, the mass burial, the cries of every soul bound within the silk. Now the exorcists must face a brutal truth: are they here to vanquish evil, or merely to bury another layer of tragedy beneath the earth?

The main‑story arc remains unresolved. Guizang Xianwang continues drifting between light and shadow. His threads stretch farther with each passing year, spreading into towns, mountain forests and deserted cities. Nobody knows whether he will one day break free from his cursed existence, or sink deeper into endless darkness, forever becoming nothing more than the bringer of woven death.1
