Morality, the light hidden in life
When I returned the lost meal card to the owner, the surprise in her eyes shone like stars; When I picked up the little kid who fell down, his "thank you" was as sweet as sugar. These moments made me realize that morality is not a big principle in textbooks, but a light hidden in the crevices of life, illuminating oneself and warming others.
On a rainy day in the fifth grade of primary school, I was walking home with an umbrella. The old lady in front of me suddenly stopped and bent down to pick up a black wallet. I thought she would put it in her bag, but I didn't expect her to stand there and raise her wallet high in the air and shout, "Who's wallet fell off?" Rainwater wet her hair, but her voice was as bright as sunshine. Later, the owner rushed over, and the aunt handed over the wallet with a smile, then turned and disappeared into the rain. At that moment, I suddenly understood: morality is an instinct, choosing to do the right thing even when no one is watching.
In junior high school, I encountered a "moral choice question" once. On that day, I was responsible for cleaning the blackboard. The class monitor came over and said, "Anyway, the teacher won't check until tomorrow, so just wipe it off a bit." I looked at the remaining chalk marks on the blackboard, and my heart was a little shaken. But when I remembered what my mother said, "Do things in accordance with your conscience," I still picked up the cloth and wiped the blackboard clean. The next day, the teacher praised me and said, "Although wiping the blackboard is a small matter, it can show a person's sense of responsibility." It turns out that morality is a kind of persistence, doing simple things well without being perfunctory or lazy.
What I remember most is Uncle Li, the cobbler at the school gate. He never charged exorbitant fees for mending shoes, and sometimes he even did it for free when he encountered elderly people. Once my shoes broke, he fixed them for me for twenty minutes and only charged me two yuan. I asked him, "Why don't you charge more?" Uncle Li smiled and said, "As a person, you should have a conscience and not make money at the expense of others." His hands were covered with calluses, but they were as warm as sunshine. Morality is not an earth-shattering matter, but an adherence in ordinary days, a kindness to others and a requirement for oneself.
Now, I am a Grade 1 student. I gradually understand that morality is like air, invisible and intangible, but indispensable. It exists in our words and deeds: not cutting in line is moral; It is moral to actively help classmates solve problems; It is also moral to throw garbage into the trash can. These small actions, like a bunch of light, can illuminate the whole world when they come together.
Morality is the light hidden in life, which makes us better and makes the world a better place. Let's use our actions to light up this light and let the flower of morality bloom in our lives.
