I have half of my summer vacation left.
The cicadas croaked at the top of the tree, and the sunlight cast a mottled shadow on the floor through the gaps in the curtains. I opened my eyes in a daze, touched my phone, and saw that it was August 1st. Oh, half of the summer vacation has already passed.
In the first half of the summer vacation, I was like a playful little beast. I wake up naturally every day, and the first thing I do when I wake up is turn on the air conditioner, hold an ice-cold watermelon, and watch TV on the sofa. Mom always says that I am "day and night reversed," but I don't care, because summer vacation is for relaxation anyway. In the afternoon, I will go fishing by the lake in the park with some good friends, or play badminton on the playground. Our clothes were soaked with sweat, but we were laughing more brightly than the sunshine. In the evening, we will go to the night market together, eat grilled skewers and drink cold drinks, and watch the crowds coming and going on the street, feeling that the whole world is full of fireworks.
The most unforgettable thing for me was going to the beach with my family. On the golden sand, my younger brother and I chased and played, built castles with sand, and picked up shells. The waves came up to the beach again and again, and then retreated, as if playing hide-and-seek with us. Dad taught me how to swim, and although I drank several mouthfuls of seawater, the joy of finally being able to float in the water was indescribable. At night, we set up a tent on the beach, listened to the sound of the waves, counted the stars in the sky, and felt like a free little bird soaring in the boundless sky.
Of course, summer vacation is not just about playing. My mom enrolled me in a calligraphy class, and I go to class every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday morning. At first, I felt that practicing calligraphy was very boring, and the hand holding the brush would not obey, and the words written were crooked, like a bunch of little insects. But as I practiced, I gradually fell in love with calligraphy. Looking at the ink spreading on the paper and forming beautiful Chinese characters, I felt an unprecedented sense of satisfaction. The teacher said that my handwriting has improved a lot, and I felt very happy when I heard it.
Now, half of the summer vacation has passed. I started to get a little worried because I hadn't finished my homework yet. Looking at the stack of exercise books on my desk, I couldn't help sighing. However, I am not in a hurry, after all, there is still half of the summer vacation. I plan to do my homework every morning, go to the library to read books in the afternoon, and take a walk with my family in the evening. This way, you can complete your homework, enrich yourself, and enjoy time with your family.
The summer vacation is like a short trip. In the first half, I play freely and enjoy freedom and happiness. In the second half, I need to calm down and prepare for the new semester. I believe that as long as I arrange my time properly, this summer vacation will be fulfilling and meaningful. Oh, with half of the summer vacation left, I am both looking forward to it and a little nervous, but more importantly, I am looking forward to the future. I want to cherish the remaining time and make this summer vacation a beautiful memory on my journey of growth.
