And “power and fragility”… in the world of code, power comes from logical structure, but fragility often lies in unexpected inputs, in chaos, in disruption of that structure.
What is the opposite of structured data? Randomness. Noise. Chaos.
And what is the ultimate chaos in a structured system? A recursive loop that never terminates. A self-consuming process.
I had an idea. A dangerous one.
Ignoring the terrified pleas of Professor Lin and the others, I started typing a new sequence of commands. I was trying to reverse-engineer a part of the entity’s structure that I had glimpsed, and then inject a carefully crafted piece of code – a self-replicating, self-consuming algorithm designed to create an infinite loop within its own system.
It was a digital virus, essentially. A Trojan horse, disguised as part of its own language.
As I typed the final lines of code, the black tower shimmered and vibrated violently. The whispers reached a crescendo, turning into a cacophony of tortured sounds, a digital scream of pain and rage. The symbols on my screen went wild, flashing and changing at an unbelievable speed.
