“Chen Mo, what is happening?!” Professor Lin exclaimed, his voice trembling.

“It’s… it’s from the game! From the virtual world! It’s trying to enter our reality!” I yelled over the din of the whispers. “It’s… it’s a digital entity! And I think… I think I can understand its language!”

I knew how insane I sounded. But the conviction grew stronger within me. I wasn't just seeing things. I was seeing data, rendered in a way my human brain could perceive.

I turned back to my laptop, ignoring the fear that the others were clearly experiencing. My fingers flew across the keyboard, typing commands based on the patterns I was recognizing in the symbols. I was trying to communicate with this digital entity, to understand its purpose, or perhaps, to find a way to disrupt its process.

The symbols on the screen reacted violently. The whispers turned into growls. The black tower pulsed faster, its dark light intensifying. Suddenly, a blast of cold air shot out from the tower projection, extinguishing the candles, plunging the room into near darkness, save for the flickering light of my laptop screen and the ominous glow of the black tower.
