Jian let out a shout and charged at the nearest one, swinging his machete.

The machete clanged against the stone body of the creature, making a sparks fly, but doing minimal damage. The creature barely reacted, simply reaching out a stony limb towards Jian.

I knew I had to do something.

I looked at the fused sculpture, then at the ancient cave entrance with its carvings.

The carvings! Seeker said these symbols were keys.

I focused on the stone creatures, trying to understand their nature, their weakness. They were of the mountain, of stone. Their power was grounded in the earth itself.
