古墓秘辛:时光之砂

Chapter 3:The Mysterious Childhood Friend

The morning sun filtered through the sparse treetops, casting dappled shadows on the ground.Lin Yi and Su Yao arrived at the designated meeting spot, their backpacks filled with carefully prepared equipment and supplies.Lao Dao was already there,a large backpack filled with an assortment of tomb-raiding tools by his side.He nodded at their approach, signaling that it was time to get moving.

"We don't have much time,"Lao Dao said, his voice gravelly with urgency."If the dark organization is after the same tomb, they could be on their way already. We need to reach Qingyun Tomb as quickly as possible."

Lin Yi nodded, hoisting his backpack onto his shoulders, ready to set off.Just as he was about to step forward, his phone buzzed in his pocket. He pulled it out and saw a text message from a familiar number. His eyes widened slightly as he read the message:

"Bro Yi,I know you're heading to Qingyun Tomb.Wait up,I've got something that can help."

Lin Yi frowned, recognizing the number immediately. It was from A Qiang, his childhood friend.Growing up together, the two had been inseparable, and A Qiang's knack for technology had always been impressive. He was skilled with all sorts of modern gadgets, from detection equipment to communication devices—skills that could prove invaluable in their upcoming adventure.

"Is A Qiang coming too?"Lin Yi muttered to himself,a mix of surprise and curiosity in his voice.

"What's up?"Su Yao asked, noticing the puzzled look on Lin Yi's face.

"It's a text from A Qiang,"Lin Yi replied, showing her the message."He says he knows about our plan to go to Qingyun Tomb and that he has something that could help us."

"Who's A Qiang?"Su Yao asked,her interest piqued.

"A Qiang is my childhood friend. We grew up together,"Lin Yi explained."He's really good with modern tech stuff—detection gear, communication tools, you name it.His skills could be a huge asset on this trip."

"But how did he know about Qingyun Tomb?"Su Yao pressed.

"I'm not sure,"Lin Yi admitted, shaking his head."Maybe he overheard something or found a clue in my grandfather's study."

"Should we wait for him?"Su Yao suggested.

"Let's,"Lin Yi decided."He's my friend, and if he says he can help,it's worth waiting.Besides, his tech skills could make a real difference."

So,they decided to wait for A Qiang at the spot.About half an hour later, they heard the sound of heavy breathing and footsteps approaching.A Qiang appeared, his face flushed and his backpack bouncing on his back as he jogged up to them.He was carrying a large backpack filled with various electronic devices and tools.

"Bro Yi,sorry to keep you waiting!"A Qiang panted, wiping sweat from his forehead."I saw the map in your grandpa's study a few days ago and figured out where you were headed.I've got some gadgets that might come in handy."

"Good timing,"Lin Yi said with a smile."How did you know we were going to Qingyun Tomb?"

"I went to your place to look for you and saw the map,"A Qiang explained."I did some research and thought I could help.So here I am!"

"Great,"Lin Yi said, impressed."What did you bring?"

"I've got some detection equipment that can help us find the tomb's entrance,"A Qiang said, patting his backpack."It can pick up on underground metals and voids, which should make finding our way in a lot easier."

"That's perfect,"Lin Yi said, feeling a surge of optimism."With you on board, our chances just went way up."

Su Yao nodded in agreement. She knew that A Qiang's tech expertise would be a crucial addition to their team.

"Let's get moving,"Lao Dao said, breaking the moment."We can't afford to waste any more time."

The four of them shouldered their backpacks and set off, following the route marked on the map. They trekked through dense forests and climbed steep mountains, facing numerous challenges along the way.But with teamwork and determination, they overcame each obstacle one by one.

After several days of arduous travel, they finally arrived at the location marked on the map.Standing at the foot of the mountain, they saw a large cave entrance, almost hidden by vines and undergrowth.

"Is this the entrance to Qingyun Tomb?"A Qiang asked, his eyes wide with excitement.

"It should be,"Lin Yi said, examining the terrain carefully."The map pointed right here."

"Let's go inside,"Lao Dao said, stepping into the cave first.

The cave was pitch-black,and they had to rely on their flashlights to navigate. The walls of the cave were damp with moisture, and the air was cool and musty. They made their way cautiously along the narrow passage, their footsteps echoing in the darkness.

"This place hasn't seen visitors in a long time,"Su Yao remarked, shining her flashlight around.

"Yeah,it's really well-hidden,"Lin Yi agreed."We'd never have found it without the map."

"Watch out, there might be traps ahead,"Lao Dao warned, his eyes scanning the darkness.

They continued forward, and soon they reached a massive stone door. The door was covered in ancient symbols and intricate carvings, giving off an air of mystery.

"What are these?"A Qiang asked, pointing at the symbols.

"These symbols are probably the tomb's protective runes,"Su Yao said."They might be connected to the traps inside."

"We need to decipher these runes to open the door,"Lin Yi said, studying the symbols closely.

"Let me give it a try,"Lao Dao said, stepping forward and gently touching the symbols with his fingers.

His fingers glided over the runes,as if searching for a pattern.Suddenly, the stone door vibrated slightly, and then it began to slowly open.

"Did it!"A Qiang exclaimed, his excitement palpable.

"Lao Dao is truly an experienced tomb-raider,"Lin Yi said, admiration in his voice.

"Let's go inside and see what's there,"Lao Dao said, leading the way into the passage beyond the stone door.

The passage was even darker and more humid than the cave. They followed it until they reached a massive underground chamber. In the center of the chamber was a huge stone coffin, adorned with exquisite carvings and inscriptions.

"This must be the core area of Qingyun Tomb,"Su Yao said, shining her flashlight on the coffin.

"We need to find what's inside the coffin,"Lin Yi said, stepping forward to examine it closely.

"Be careful, there might be traps inside the coffin,"Lao Dao warned.

Lin Yi nodded and carefully lifted the lid of the stone coffin.Inside, there was nothing but an old piece of parchment.Lin Yi picked it up and examined it closely. The parchment had a line of ancient text written on it.

"What does it say?"A Qiang asked.

"It's another map,"Lin Yi said, his eyes widening."It marks the location of another tomb."

"Another tomb?"Su Yao said, her voice filled with astonishment."So Qingyun Tomb is just the beginning?"

"It looks like our adventure is just getting started,"Lin Yi said, determination shining in his eyes.
