幕启·七十四

梁皖妮就这样，蜷缩成一团，在门口坐了整夜。

她已经感受不到寒冷了。环境的寒冷对她而言已经不算什么了。

第二天，太阳升起，她才摸索出手机，颤抖着给阿曼达打去电话。

“What's the matter, dear?”

听到阿曼达慈爱的声音，梁皖妮稍稍平静下来，道：“I'd like to ask for leave. It may take a long time.”

除了上次拍电影的时候，其他时候梁皖妮从来没有请过假。

阿曼达听出了梁皖妮语气中残留的不安，关切地问：“Did something bad happen to you?”

“Nothing.”梁皖妮连忙否认。

“I heard your fear. You're hiding something.”

梁皖妮无法忍住内心的委屈，抽泣着把事情说了一遍。末了，她还不忘强调：“He failed. But I'm afraid that… ”

阿曼达语重心长地说：“You know, you can't keep avoiding him.”

梁皖妮沉默着。

阿曼达又说：“You can't swallow it all the time. Otherwise, he willreach out for a yard after taking an inch.”

“But... I... I don't know what to do.”

“Let me help you.”阿曼达说完，挂了电话。

梁皖妮不知所措地站了起来，两眼无神。

过了一会，阿曼达又打电话过来了。她像抓住了救命稻草一般，迫不及待地接通了电话。

“Mr Smith said that he was not satisfied with your interview last night. All theaters are competing and comparing the number of candidates.”

梁皖妮不知道阿曼达为什么要和她说这件事。她有点失望，但还是说：“Maybe... Because... I said yesterday that if there was a play suitable for me on Broadway, I would stay there.”

“If you can be selected, it may be a good chance to leave Old Vic.”

“But... I can't afford to pay liquidated damages.”梁皖妮有自己的担忧。

“Don't worry, someone will handle it for you then.”阿曼达给她打定心针。
