简偷偷笑了一下，说：“I'm an actress of Old Vic and one of Wonnie's best friends. Even if Mr Smith didn't send me to pick you up, I'd like to give you a lift.”

阿曼达见简说出了梁皖妮的名字，反而更加不放心了。简是怎么知道她是来找梁皖妮的？她也无心去调查简说得是否属实。有这时间，早就到家了。

阿曼达反问简：“Did Gavin tell you where to send me?”

简不假思索地回答：“He asked you to go to his office. He said he had something to talk to you about.”

阿曼达摇了摇头：“I had intended to go to his office to find him, but I suddenly received a phone call and learned that something had happened at home. So, I just called him and explained the situation.”

简愣了一下，接着挽着阿曼达，说：“Where is your house? I'm just free today. I can send you home. Otherwise, I would have gone in vain.”

阿曼达见简这么热情，终于说出了心里的疑虑：“I heard from Gavin that you are going to play both white swan and black swan in Swan Lake. He said you spent most of your time rehearsing these days. Why did he send you to pick me up?”

简尴尬了。伶牙俐齿的她，突然间不知道该如何解释了。她该怎么圆上呢？

阿曼达也算是“久经沙场”的，不会那么单纯地就轻信于人。

阿曼达看了眼表，把胳膊抽出来说：“It's been too long. I should go back. Goodbye, Miss Stephens. Go and rehearse.”

简看着阿曼达远去，愤愤不平地站在原地。

她说时间耽搁得太久了，是觉得自己在浪费她的时间吗？

她让自己去排练，是觉得自己不务正业吗？

简气呼呼地走回了家。

她想不明白，这么一个久仰大名的经纪人，加文怎么偏偏就安排给了梁皖妮而不是自己。

当然，她不能这么便宜了梁皖妮。她不管梁皖妮和阿曼达怎么规划的，她不能让二人的计划得逞。
