英文小说:TheLastTrainFromBosto

This was where the old man worked. He owned the local mill. He also owned a large brick factory which was used mostly for storing and repairing things. That was where the old man met the new man. They went for coffee after work, and talked. The old man spoke of the many adventures he had gone on since then.. He told stories about the strange and mysterious places he'd travelled to. But the young man listened attentively. He asked many questions about the places the old man had lived, but never mentioned any names besides ‘New York.’ At the end of each of the old man's stories, he had always added, “And that’s why he doesn’t talk anymore. He couldn't bear to name the place. So we let him stay in a room in the hotel. We have his luggage here. If he ever wants to talk about the place, he can just ask to see the things he has left behind.”“Oh,” said the boy. He nodded slowly. His face remained expressionless. But the man noticed the boy’s hands trembling. He could tell he was very upset by the events of the day, even though he tried to keep it hidden. “That makes sense.” He turned back towards the window. The train moved forward a bit as the tracks creaked beneath its wheels. The conductor shouted out orders as he ran through the train. People pushed and shoved against him to leave. He stopped for a moment and glared at the people who made it difficult to move through the train. The boy noticed this.

. He knew how people reacted to this man and how angry he usually was at them. “We should go,” said the old man. “It’ll be dark soon.”

When the old man first arrived, he was shocked by the amount of food that was laid out.
